The Labour Party, once the party of hard hats and factory floors, has become a laughing stock under Mad Ed Miliband and his spinning-top sidekick Sir Keir Starmer. Their Net Zero ātwister gameā madness isnāt just a policy ā itās a full-scale assault on Britainās industrial heartlands. While they virtue-signal about saving the planet, theyāre shuttering our coal mines, banning fracking, and propping up British Steel with foreign coal imports.
You canāt make it up. Itās a scandal of epic proportions ā and itās time to properly call it out. Letās cut through the spin: Labourās Net Zero crusade is a con job. Mad Ed and Spinning Keir have banned new coal mines and outlawed fracking, leaving Britain begging for coking coal from abroad to keep our last steel plants alive. The fact a 55,000 tonne shipment of coal which arrived in Lincolnshire from Japan on Thursday, needed to save Scunthorpe’s blast furnaces, was still stuck on a boat last night ā 24 hours after the Government took control of British Steel, beggars belief.
Moving forward, these eco-clowns would rather import coal on slow boats from Australia or Colombia ā waiting 45 days for delivery ā than dig up British coal thatās right under our feet. Why? Because their greenie pals in the Extinction Rebellion mob would throw a hissy fit.
Meanwhile, towns like Scunthorpe face economic ruin as British Steelās blast furnaces gasp for fuel. The government is even offering to buy the coal themselves with your taxes to keep this farce alive. Itās insanity!
Weāre paying foreign miners to do the work British miners could doāwhile Labour lectures us about āsustainability.ā Donāt be fooled by Labourās last-minute stunt to āsaveā British Steel.
This is a pop-up steel industry ā a cheap, temporary trick to mask their industrial vandalism. The Chinese owners at Jingye are ready to bolt, blast furnaces are days from going cold, and Mad Edās solution is to throw taxpayer cash at foreign coal shipments.
Itās like using a sticking plaster to fix a broken leg! And letās not forget Labourās role in this utter omni-shambles. Their energy policies have given Britain the highest industrial power costs in the world bar none.
No wonder Jingye says steelmaking here is āfinancially unsustainable.ā
Even Andrew Neil blasted Mad Edās ānauseating hypocrisy,ā rightly accusing him of promoting policies that make British industry uncompetitive while posing as a hero for workers. Labourās ārescue planā is a sham.
Don’t miss… ‘Ed Miliband let China wreck British Steel and UK energy sector could be next’
Once the headlines fade, Scunthorpeās furnaces will still face closure ā and thousands of workers will still be left jobless. Mad Ed Miliband and Spinning Keir Starmer are eco-zealots,not leaders. Their Net Zero obsession has become a death warrant for British industry.
Theyāve shut coal plants, banned fossil fuel projects, and poured billions into windmills and solar panels that canāt power a toaster on a cloudy day.
Meanwhile, theyāve turned Britain into a dumping ground for foreign coal. While they virtue-signal about āclean energy,ā theyāre happy to let China, India, and Russia burn coal by the shipload. Theyāve made us a global jokeāand British workers are paying the price.
Even the Greens are laughing! Their solution? Nationalisethe steel industry and switch to āgreen steelā ā a fantasy technology that doesnāt exist at scale. Meanwhile, Labourās pop-up steel scam keeps the furnaces burning just long enough for Starmer to snap a photo op with hard hats before pulling the plug.
The crisis in Scunthorpe is a national disgrace. BritishSteelās furnaces ā Bess and Anne, the last two standing in the UK ā are running on fumes. To buy time, engineers are performing a risky āSalamander Tapā shutdown on Bess, drilling holes to drain molten metal without killing the furnace.
Itās a Hail Mary move that underscores Labourās utter incompetence. Unions are begging for nationalisation, but thatās just a band-aid.
Without affordable British coal, steelmaking here will never be viable. Labourās answer? Keep importing foreign coal, keep prices sky-high, and keep workers biting their nails.
And letās talk about Jingye. The Chinese firm isnāt stupid ā theyāve seen Labourās Net Zero madness and want out. Who can blame them? Even the Lib Dems and Tories are scrambling for āalternative partnersā, but no sane investor will touch British steel while Mad Edās policies drain profits.Labour claims to ālevel up,ā but their policies are levelling down.
Towns like Scunthorpe, once thriving industrial hubs, are becoming ghost towns. Workers who built this country are treated like collateral damage in Labourās war on fossil fuels.Mad Ed and Spinning Keir would rather win applause at the upcoming COP30 climate summit in Brazil than save a single British job.
Theyāve sold out the working class to please their tofu-eating, bike-riding London elite mates. Itās a betrayal ā and voters wonāt forget it. Even Labourās own unions are revolting.
Uniteās Linda McCulloch has demanded nationalisation to ākeep steelmaking aliveā, but whatās the point if Net Zero taxes and foreign coal make it impossible?
Hereās the solution, plain and simple: Reopen Britainās coal mines. We have enough coal under our feet to power steelmaking for decades. Itās cheaper, faster, and creates thousands of jobsāreal jobs, not pop-up scams.
But no. Mad Ed would rather virtue-signal. Heād rather import coal with a giant carbon footprint from halfway across the globe than admit his Net Zero fantasy is unworkable.
Itās time to ditch this madness and put Britain First. Labour have betrayed workers, sacrificed communities, and turned us into a global punchline. Itās time to sack the clowns, reopen the mines, and put British jobs and British homegrown energy security. No more foreign coal.
No more phony āgreen steelā pipe dreams. No more Mad Ed.
