GB News’ Martin Daubney breaks down in tears over migrant sex offender – ‘Enough!’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV
GB News presenter Martin Daubney was moved to tears live on-air and said he had “just had enough” after finding out that the Government handed taxpayer money to a migrant sex offender. Hadush Kebatu, who sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl and a woman while living in an asylum hotel, was given ยฃ500 before being flown back to Ethiopia. Talking to the founder of the Pink Ladies group, Lorraine Kavanagh, Martin expressed his emotion after learning of the news.
He remarked: “Iโm just feeling so emotional about whatโs happening in Britain and whatโs going on on our streets. It seems like every day is just totally out of control. A lot of the heartbreak and consternation.ย
“This all started on your patch in Epping, this scumbag, letโs call him what he is. Heโs now been flown out of the country. Heโs got ยฃ500 of British taxpayersโ money. Is that the final insult?”
Lorraine replied: “Well, actually, Martin, ยฃ500 was a bit of a bargain because he wasnโt eligible for the Governmentโs voluntary return scheme, which would have been ยฃ1,500.
“So heโs gone off with ยฃ500, thatโs a yearโs pay in Ethiopia, leaving a 14-year-old girl and a woman with no compensation, and the wreckage of their lives. Weโre sitting ducks. I feel as though we are sitting ducks.”
Martin agreed: “I mean, I admire your glass-half-full attitude about the ยฃ500. In fact, thanks for saying that, because itโs helped me a bit. Iโve been trying to make sense of this all morning, but I still find it very, very difficult to grasp the concept that somebody could get a single penny of money for this.
“Itโs not the Governmentโs money, itโs our money. Every single British taxpayer has paid for it. Itโs not a b***dy Government fund; itโs ours.
“This guy has got ยฃ500 to go back to his country after molesting a teenager who will probably remember it for the rest of her life and may never have a normal life as a consequence. Now, all of us who have daughters. Iโve just had enough of this. Weโve just had enough.”
Kebatu had been mistakenly released from prison before he was re-arrested and deported.
