College Football Playoff rankings live updates: Countdown to today’s release after Week 12 games

How much of a boost does USC (7-2) get for beating Iowa? The Trojans, who were at No. 17 last week, defeated No. 21 Iowa at home, while No. 16 Georgia Tech and No. 14 Vanderbilt struggled with Boston College and Auburn, respectively.

It’s unlikely USC would jump Miami, considering the Hurricanes made easy work of NC State on Saturday and already beat Notre Dame, a team USC lost to (although that still hasn’t helped Miami stay ahead of the Irish). But if USC can move up a couple of spots, does that put it in position to join the at-large conversation with a road upset of top-10 Oregon on Saturday?

The Trojans are rooting for chaos elsewhere regardless, but where the committee puts them Tuesday night will be a factor.
