Washington’s quarterback situation just got even more troubling. Marcus Mariota went back to the locker room during the second quarter to be evaluated for a concussion (he cleared) and a hand injury. He is questionable to return because of the hand injury.

Mariota stayed down on the field after an incompletion early in the second quarter, then slowly walked to the sideline as special teams took the field. He was examined in the medical tent, then emerged with a towel over his right hand and jogged to the locker room with a team athletic trainer.

Josh Johnson began warming up on the sideline took the field with the Commanders’ offense on their ensuing drive as Mariota remained in the locker room. Johnson is the only other quarterback available to the Commanders for tonight. Jayden Daniels was ruled out for the final three games of the season and declared inactive against the Eagles. And Sam Hartman is on the practice squad and, therefore, ineligible to be the designated emergency third quarterback for Washington
