Keir Starmer has admitted that he wasnโ€™t concerned about getting spied upon while getting dressed during his visit to China.

The Prime Minister said he didnโ€™t follow the example of his predecessor, Theresa May, who reportedly changed her clothes under a duvet in case she was being watched by prying eyes.

Sir is the first UK Prime Minister to visit the Communist superpower since Mrs May in 2018.

Asked if he changed under his bed clothes while in Beijing, the PM said: โ€œNo, I can confirm that I didn’t.

โ€œAnd I’ve always said that we need to seize the opportunities mindful of our national security. What I think is wrong, is simply putting your head in the sand.โ€

He also said that he would visit China on holiday with his family.

And the PM revealed that he has his own Labubu – the hugely popular Chinese toy.

Asked by ITV News if was familiar with the toy, one of the biggest Chinese exports to the UK, he said: โ€œI am familiar and in fact Iโ€™ve got a little one for myself.

โ€œIโ€™ve got one, yes, I donโ€™t think itโ€™ll last long with my children!โ€
