My offer to Labour MPs to help them get rid of calamity Keir Starmer | Politics | News

Britain is not being governed. Every day, we are witnessing what happens when the country is run by a Government that has no idea what it is doing in power, and no idea what it stands for.

There have been so many terrible decisions, none of which were in the Labour Party manifesto. Snatching away winter fuel payments. Taxing family farms. Mandatory digital ID. Higher taxes, more red tape. A disastrous Budget for Benefits Street.

Every single one of these mistakes comes back to the judgement of one man: Keir Starmer.

For months, I have been pressing the Prime Minister to come clean on his decision to appoint Peter Mandelson as the British ambassador in Washington, despite his links to the paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

At PMQs this week, I finally forced Keir Starmer to admit the shocking truth.

He knew that Mandelson had continued a relationship with Epstein and had stayed in his house after the conviction for child prostitution.

The Prime Minister knew this, and he appointed Peter Mandelson anyway.

This a shocking and unforgivable lapse in judgement. But it is also part of a wider problem.

Britain is getting poorer, and Britain is getting weaker. Yet the Prime Minister is spending his waking hours furiously trying to save his job.

I know that there are lots of Labour MPs who are horrified by the events of the past few days.

I saw it in the House of Commons, and weโ€™ve all heard and seen it in the media.

They want change, and they know our country needs change.

So, Iโ€™m asking those Labour MPs to come and speak to the Conservative whips’ office, and talk seriously about how we get Keir Starmer out of No 10 Downing Street.

Because his position is clearly untenable.

Sadly, even if Starmer goes, weโ€™re still stuck with a Labour Government for another few years.

Which is why Iโ€™m using every day to demonstrate how the Conservatives are coming up with plans that can finally fix the things going wrong in our country.

Our strong borders plan, leaving the ECHR, deporting all illegal arrivals. Our cheap power plan, backing our oil and gas industry, cutting energy bills. Our plan to cut the welfare bill by ยฃ23billion. Our plan to abolish stamp duty. Our plan to fix the high street. Our plan to get Britain working again.

That is the difference a Conservative government will make.
