Starmer LIVE: Crisis for No.10 as PM’s future on the brink | Politics | News

Keir Starmer’s future as Prime Minister is hanging by a thread today, after being dealt two crushing resignations by senior Downing Street aides.ย

The PM’s chief of staff Morgan McSweeney departed yesterday, saying he is taking responsibility for the advice to appoint Peter Mandelson to the Washington embassy.

He was followed out of the Number 10 door this morning by Tim Allan, Keir Starmer’s fourth communications director in 18 months.

It’s now understood that Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar is set to deliver a press conference at 2.30pm today, in which he will call for Sir Keir to resign as Prime Minister.ย
