Kemi Badenoch handed huge boost as she beats Farage and Starmer in poll | Politics | News

Kemi Badenoch beats Sir Keir Starmer and Nigel Farage in new polling on who would make the best prime minister. The Tory leader also came out on top in head-to-heads with Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey and Green leader Zack Polanski in the research by More in Common.

Mrs Badenoch was backed by 62% to 38% when pitted against Sir Keir, who is clinging onto power amid the Lord Mandelson scandal, and 64% to 36% against the Reform UK leader. She is also at least 20 points clear of both Sir Ed and Mr Polanski.

The findings are a boost to the Conservative leader as her party has seen signs of a slight recovery in recent polling.

Sir Keir narrowly had the edge over Mr Farage, with 51% saying he would be a better premier compared to 49% for the Clacton MP.

The Prime Minister also beat Green Party leader Mr Polanski by 54% to 45%, but the Prime Minister lost to Sir Ed by 60% to 40%.

Mr Farage, whose insurgent party is consistently leading national opinion polls, beats Mr Polanski by 54% to 46%.

But the Brexiteer loses to Mrs Badenoch by 36% to 64% and to Sir Ed by two points.

It comes as new polling by the group puts Reform in the lead on 30%.

Labour is second on 23%, up two points from the previous week, while the Tories are up one point with 21%.

The Lib Dems are on 12%, the Greens 10% and the SNP 2%.

More in Common UK director Luke Tryl said: “At just 44% this is actually the highest combined vote for the two traditional main parties since October.”
