Nigel Farage shares bombshell update on Labour defection to Reform UK | Politics | News
Nigel Farage is set to unveil “a couple” of Labour defections next week. The Reform UK leader was asked for an update at a press conference today after he teased in January that a Labour politician would jump ship.
Mr Farage said: “I’ll be doing a press conference next week at which I’ll have a couple of Labour defectors. Not MPs, but people who’ve played very significant roles in public life in Labour in this country.”
The Reform leader had previously promised a Labour defection after Robert Jenrick’s move.
A string of Tory figures have switched to Reform in recent months including Suella Braverman, Danny Kruger and Nadhim Zahawi.
But Mr Farage has been forced to deny his outfit is becoming “the Conservative Party 2.0”.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves previously shrugged off the Reform boss’s promise of a Labour switcher.

She said in January: “Nigel Farage says a lot of things and I think we should all take those with a pinch of salt.”
Mr Farage’s press conference was due to be on Chancellor Rachel Reeves’s spring statement tomorrow and Reform’s pledge for electoral reform.
But it was largely dominated by the Middle East conflict, with Mr Farage branding Sir Keir Starmer’s response as “pathetic”.
