Donald Trump’s niece has asserted that her uncle’s decision to strike Iran is based on “one reason” alone – and it bears no relation to aiding the Iranian people. As part of Operation Epic Fury, the US military, under what The White House describes on its website as the US President’s “bold command”, has exerted “overwhelming force” on its Iranian targets.

It may be challenging to dispute the administration’s portrayal of the attacks as both “crushing” and “devastating”, given that there have already been a reported 787 fatalities in Iran alone, including 165 schoolgirls. Iran, whose supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was also killed, responded with a series of extensive drone and missile strikes across the Gulf, targeting countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, and Cyprus. As questions persist over the motive behind the US and Israel’s assault, Mary Trump-daughter of Donald’s late brother Fred Trump Jr. -insists there’s “one reason alone”, and it’s not regime change.
