Protest for Iran promotes Jew-hatred – how is Mahmood allowing it? | Politics | News

Why is Shabana Mahmood allowing a pro-Iran hate protest to go ahead this weekend when we know it’s going to kick off and people – particularly Jews – are going to get hurt? The “static” protest is being staged by the Islamic Human Rights Commission (a screaming oxymoron) which MPs say has links to the Iranian regime.

But Iran is our enemy and we’re currently at war, yet supporters of its barbaric regime are being allowed to spew their bile onto our streets? We’re supposed to be grateful the Home Secretary used the Public Order Act to ban a full-blown march through the capital because the IHRC’s “credentials” (according to the respected think tank, the Henry Jackson Society) are that it’s “institutionally pro-terrorist” and promotes “extreme anti-semitism”.

The government’s own 2023 review described it as “an Islamist group… that has a history of extremist links and terrorist sympathies”. The government’s own 2023 review described it as “an Islamist group… that has a history of extremist links and terrorist sympathies”. But although Mahmood has outlawed a full-blown march, there’s no law against this farcial “static protest” which will be attended by the same keffiyeh wearing, Palestinian flag-waving nutters.

And what does “static” actually mean? These wackos must get to where the protest is being held, so however they do that presumably they’ll be waving their flags and chanting their bile as they go. So, it will be a march.

What kind of government hides behind its weak, ineffectual laws in the face of pro-terrorist maniacs who promote extreme ideologies, glorify violent resistance and support proscribed terror groups AND who could bring violence and disorder to the capital’s streets hurting innocent people in the process.

Just so you know what we’re dealing with here, the leader of the IHRC, Massoud Shadjareh, described the murderous (now dead) Ayatollah Khomeini as “a torch of light for the whole of mankind” and has said: “We are all Hezbollah”.

No, we damn well aren’t and these groups should have no right to scream that crap on our streets. And if they do, they should be arrested. Because if ever there was a hate crime – vocal support of terrorist murderers more than qualifies.

As for those who ask, “But what about people’s right to protest?” Well sod that if the protest is going to result in innocent people getting hurt and Jews being threatened, abused or worse. I’m sorry but marches like this, static or otherwise, legitimise Jew hatred. We’ve had two years of rocketing anti-semitism thanks to them being allowed to happen week after week.

Our police can’t even fight crime anymore because they’re too busy trying to stop the pro-Palestinian mobs hurting people who get in their way. But if the Public Order Act doesn’t allow for this pro-terror event to be banned – then pass an Act that does.

Or is this Government too scared of losing Muslim votes? I fear it is. Worse, it’s been paralysed by institutional cowardice that stops it from tackling extremism and maintaining public order. So, as that extremism festers and infects every corner of society, our government hides behind ineffectual laws the rest of us must stick to but which supporters of proscribed terror groups do not.

We’ve all seen police standing idly by while anti-semitic protestors commit hate crimes in front of their eyes. And even if they are arrested, they’re let off with a slap on the wrist.

Yet all that’s ever talked about by the illiberal liberals is peoples’ right to protest – never the rights of those abused and threatened, the rights of Britons to walk the streets without fear of being intimidated by religious thugs posing as protesters.

Two-tier laws! Two-tier policing! Two-tier justice!
