Donald Trumpโ€™s spiritual adviser Pastor Mark Burns has said he made on thing clear to the controversial leader over his expletive laden rant on Truth Social.

Earlier this month Trump, 79, took to his social media platform once again and posted an aggressive rant targeting the Iranian regime.

In it he warned of further escalation tomorrow (Tuesday, April 7) if they did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz which is crucial to the worldโ€™s supply of oil.

Trump said: โ€œTuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F*****โ€™ Strait, you crazy b******s, or youโ€™ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.โ€

Trumpโ€™s rant, after the rescue of the second of two crew members of an F-15E shot down over Iran, comes as tensions continue to escalate in the region.

Trumpโ€™s rant has received widespread condemnation and analysis since it was posted, but his spiritual advisor has since stepped in and given his opinion on the matter.

He told Times Radio that he told Trump that better language could have been used, shortly after comparing Trump to a King.

Pastor Burns said: โ€œI think the president is very much like a Peter, and also very much like a David, King David. But Peter was a very foul-mouthed individual.

โ€œNow we don’t justify it, because obviously I think there are better words that could be used, and I made that point very clear to the president.

โ€œBut the president is not the pastor of the United States of America. He is the President of the United States of America. He is not the moral authority of our nation.โ€

Whilst Pastor Burns compared Trump to a monarch, other major figures in the USA have been less flattering, including former Trump ally Majorie Taylor Greene.

Taking to X, the former Republican congresswoman wrote: “I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit.

โ€œIโ€™m not defending Iran but letโ€™s be honest about all of thisโ€ฆ.Trump threatening to bomb power plants and bridges hurts the Iranian people, the very people Trump claimed he was freeing.โ€

Meanwhile, appearing on NBCโ€™s Meet the Press on Sunday, Senator Tim Kaine, a Democrat, called the threat โ€œjuvenileโ€. He added: โ€œI hope the White House โ€“ I doubt the president will โ€“ but please dial back the rhetoric, because you donโ€™t need to put people like these pilots more at risk.

โ€œItโ€™s people trying to act like they are puffed up and tough when what we really see from this administration is the absence of a plan, the absence of a clear rationale, no effort to get our allies onboard, and thus deep unpopularity of this war with the American public.โ€
