An expat billionaire is moving back to Britain so he can donate millions to Reform UK. Ben Delo, who lives in Hong Kong, gave £4 million to Nigel Farage’s insurgent party earlier this year.

But the Government has since changed the law to impose a £100,000 cap on donations from Britons living abroad. Mr Delo, the co-founder of cryptocurrency trading platform BitMEX, accused Sir Keir Starmer of trying “to stack the political deck against the most popular opposition party”.

Writing in The Telegraph, the 42-year-old, who is thought to be Britain’s youngest self-made billionaire, said: “The Government should not be allowed to get away with it. I will move back to Britain early so I can contribute more to Reform’s budget.

“I also urge other people who care about fair play and Britain’s future and who are fortunate enough to have deep pockets to reach out to me. Let’s build a war chest and win back our country.”

Mr Farage hit out at the Prime Minister after Mr Delo announced plans to return to the UK.

The Reform leader said: “The scheming and dishonest Keir Starmer will not stop us.

“In fact, his actions have only made brave people like Ben Delo even more determined to beat Labour at the next election.”

It comes as Reform UK is consistently leading national opinion polls.

The Government announced in March that gifts to political parties from British citizens living abroad would be capped at £100,000 a year, as well as a ban on cryptocurrency donations.
