Keir Starmer clings to nonsense claim in hope of survival – tactic putting UK at risk | Politics | News

Keir Starmer has a spring in his step as polls show his handling of the Iran crisis has been one of the least unpopular things he has done. Starmer’s claim that he kept us out of the war is of course a complete nonsense. Trump didn’t ask us to join in the war, he merely asked for his forces to use our bases; our armed forces have been so, hollowed out that we were incapable of joining in anyway, and anyone (unlike Starmer) who has had the misfortune to fill up their car with fuel over the last few weeks knows that we are well and truly in this war. Nevertheless, Trump’s unpopularity in the UK means Starmer’s refusal to help has gone down well with a lot of people, particularly the left-wing chattering classes.

But make no mistake, Starmer’s actions have been a betrayal of our national interest. The US is our biggest trading partner in the world, is currently our biggest supplier of oil and the defence of our country is entirely dependent on them too. There is no denying Trump is a flawed character – he stirs up somewhat irrational opinions on both sides. To some he can do no wrong, and to others he can do no right. Of course both are incorrect.

Trump gets many things right. Against the odds he has brought down illegal immigration from the millions to close to zero, something Starmer could only dream of doing, and his “drill baby drill” policy has made the US prosperous and energy self sufficient whereas Labour’s net zero madness has led to the UK paying some of the highest energy prices in the world.

But he also gets things wrong – sometimes spectacularly so. For too long he gave succour to Putin despite Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine and who knows if he has any kind of exit strategy from his pre-emptive attack on Iran.

Whatever Trump’s pros and cons, he and the US remain the UK’s strongest ally in the world – something Starmer is now putting at risk in order to shore up his support with the soft left in Labour and cling on to power. Putting the long term economic and security interests of your country at risk in order to pursue your own personal ambitions is about as low as it gets and make no mistake that is exactly what Starmer is doing.

Trump was an easy target, but Starmer’s actions have spectacularly misfired and will end in tears. Whoever the President is, and whatever anyone thinks of them, we rely on the US.

Starmer’s short term goal of survival and his attempt to seize on Trump’s unpopularity to rejoin the EU is putting the UK at risk. We can only hope King Charles manages to salvage our relationship with the US on his forthcoming state visit, before Starmer destroys it for good.

What was Melania Trump thinking?

What was Melania Trump thinking when she gave a press statement in the White House denying connections to deceased paedophile Jeffrey Epstein?

Rather than closing down the speculation as she intended, she has ramped it up. The first lady doth protest too much, methinks.

Is this the future we want for Britain?

Youth unemployment keeps rising under this Labour government. It’s now ticking up to 16% and with a toxic combination of businesses not being able to afford to hire staff and all the associated freebies for those unemployed it is not hard to see why.

If you’re an unemployed graduate there’s no need to pay that student loan off, and if you stay on benefits long enough it’ll be written off. There’s free prescriptions, a cheaper ‘social tariff’ for broadband, and pushing the anxiety, depression button can get you on PIP and a Motability car, which you can use to drive to the local attractions, which are heavily reduced too – for example the Tower of London for a family of four costs £111, but it’s only £4 if you’re on benefits.

It’s time to rebalance all of these things to make sure that there is a much bigger incentive for people to be in work. Otherwise, you will find more and more people preferring not to bother.

Labour proves that it is not the party of women’s rights

Thursday will mark the first anniversary of the Supreme Court Judgment on the definition of a woman, which ruled that trans women are not legally women for the purposes of the Equality Act. Baroness Falkner, who drew up the equality law changes, said Bridget Phillipson, the Education Secretary and Women and Equalities Minister, was putting “personal ambition” above all else, and the government’s “delay” in drawing up new guidance was a “betrayal of women” and an “act of cowardice”.

Female Labour MPs have always boasted about them being the party of women’s rights. I think this categorically proves they are not.

Slovenly should not be replacing smart

Full marks to GB News for doing research which depressingly showed that traditional school uniforms are under threat as one in eight schools have ditched ties for tracksuits and hoodies.

Slovenly has replaced smart with the excuse that being more comfortable is better for pupils’ learning. What a load of old tosh. This dropping of standards was exacerbated during the covid lockdowns when pupils were at home in their tracksuits instead of in school. And we are seeing this dumbing down of smart attire happening in the workplace as well.

The government and schools should insist on a formal school uniform. No wonder pride and discipline are in such short supply.

So THAT’S why they still call themselves the Green Party

If the Green Party won the next General Election – God forbid – then Britain would face a population explosion of 4.4 million by 2034, according to a study by City investment bank Panmure Liberum.

The Green’s open borders policy and their amnesty plans for illegal migrants would let in around 900,000 people a year. Green clearly no longer refers to the environment but a green light for anyone to enter our country legally or illegally. Make no mistake the Greens under Zack Polanski are dangerous lunatics.
