Sir Keir Starmer will face his first PMQs in weeks after the International Monetary Fund warned of a possible recession amid the Iran war.

Shadow Chancellor Sir Mel Stride slammed Rachel Reeves for overseeing the “biggest downgrade in the G7”, insisting the Chancellor had “no one to blame but herself”.

He added: “The Chancellor hiked National Insurance in her first Budget, doubling inflation and sending unemployment soaring. She is driving the hospitality industry out of business with business rate increases, and planning the first hike in fuel duty in 15 years.”
