Liam Rosenior sacked by Chelsea live updates: Next manager latest as three-month Premier League tenure ends
Just last week, Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali reassured fans that there was a plan in place to take the club back to the top of English football.
Hereโs what he said when speaking at CAAโs World Congress of Sports conference in Los Angeles:
๐ฌ โFor the fans, we care. We want the club to be successful. Weโre focused on delivering that on-pitch performance. I think six months ago everyone was super-happy. Results have been mixed, disappointing more recently. Thereโs a full reflection on what we can do better, what we can improve on.
โThere is a plan. We reflect on the plan. We try to improve the plan and tweak the plan if itโs not working. The message is weโre committed.
โCan this be successful without winning? The answer is no. Weโve got to win. And it doesnโt mean youโre going to win every game, it doesnโt mean you donโt make mistakes, that you donโt have downturns, but ultimately the objective, and especially the objective that a club like Chelsea is youโve got to win, youโve got to win trophies, and youโve got to win consistently again.
โWe were fortunate enough to do so last year. Weโve had a bit of an up and down year this year, but the objective hasnโt changed.โ
