Liam Rosenior sacked by Chelsea live updates: Next manager latest as three-month Premier League tenure ends

Just last week, Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali reassured fans that there was a plan in place to take the club back to the top of English football.

Hereโ€™s what he said when speaking at CAAโ€™s World Congress of Sports conference in Los Angeles:

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œFor the fans, we care. We want the club to be successful. Weโ€™re focused on delivering that on-pitch performance. I think six months ago everyone was super-happy. Results have been mixed, disappointing more recently. Thereโ€™s a full reflection on what we can do better, what we can improve on.

โ€œThere is a plan. We reflect on the plan. We try to improve the plan and tweak the plan if itโ€™s not working. The message is weโ€™re committed.

โ€œCan this be successful without winning? The answer is no. Weโ€™ve got to win. And it doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™re going to win every game, it doesnโ€™t mean you donโ€™t make mistakes, that you donโ€™t have downturns, but ultimately the objective, and especially the objective that a club like Chelsea is youโ€™ve got to win, youโ€™ve got to win trophies, and youโ€™ve got to win consistently again.

โ€œWe were fortunate enough to do so last year. Weโ€™ve had a bit of an up and down year this year, but the objective hasnโ€™t changed.โ€
