It took Keir Starmer “Jew Harmer” more than 24 hours to make the six-mile journey from Downing Street to Golders Green to meet shocked locals after the terror attack on their streets. Kemi was there just hours after Essa Suleiman allegedly stabbed two Jewish men in broad daylight. Farage arrived soon after.

But it took our prime minister more than 24 hours to get his sorry backside to the bloodied scene where two men had almost died and, by which time, angry locals didn’t want to talk to him. Instead, they just booed and jeered and screamed “Keir Starmer, Jew Harmer”. So our gutless PM did what he always does in a crisis – he ran away and talked to a few emergency workers who he knew wouldn’t give him a hard time and with whom he’d created a “concerned” photo opportunity and the illusion that he cared about British Jews.

But he doesn’t. If he did, he’d have stopped those anti-Israel marches in London that have gone on for 18 months and have nurtured the exploding Jew hatred on our streets. If he cared, he wouldn’t have recognised a Palestinian state in the middle of Israel’s war with Palestine.

If he cared, he’d have ensured every insult, every attack on Jews, came with a hefty prison sentence – not a slap on the wrist. He’d have banned Iranian-regime linked groups operating in the UK, he’d have arrested the hate preachers – and all the others – publicly screaming for Intifada, and he’d have arrested members of those Islamist groups whose entire existence is dedicated to exterminating the Jewish race.

If he cared, he wouldn’t have just continued to just spew out platitudes while Jews all over Britain were living in terror. And it’s precisely because of his inaction that we now have people on the streets screaming “baby killers” at Jews because of what’s happening in Gaza when it’s nothing to do with them.

And worse, we’ve had the hard-Left – swathed in their keffiyehs in solidarity with Hamas – actually justifying the attacks on Jews because of a war that’s raging thousands of miles away.

We have Islamist groups blatantly calling for the death of Jews, yet nothing happens to them because this government brands it “free speech”. Starmer even allows candidates from the Green Party to intimidate voters and spout filth like the October 7 attack was a “false flag”, and Israel is a “colony of rapists”.

And they get away with all that not only because he and his poxy government have allowed Jew hatred to be “normalised” but, most importantly, because they don’t want to upset Muslims or the Greens – both of whom they might need come the election. Had it been Muslims being attacked in this way, Starmer would have been all over it months ago. But no, the antisemitism, the racism, the barbarity is tolerated because it’s aimed at Jews.

For all his weasel words, all Starmer has done is throw a few quid at the Jewish community for security and said: “Look after yourselves.” After the attack on the Heaton Park synagogue, he promised change. But nothing’s changed. Jewish schools are still being attacked. Petrol bottles and bricks are still being thrown at synagogues, Jewish ambulances are being set alight, Jews and their children are being attacked for speaking Hebrew or for wearing skull caps. Jewish shops are being targeted, and Jewish women now wear trainers to the synagogue instead of heels in case they have to run for their lives.

So, forgive me if I laugh when Starmer says he cares. The fact is that many Islamist ideologies are inherently antisemitic and until this government deals with those ideologies antisemitism will continue to spread like the cancer it is.

As Jewish D-Day veteran Mervyn Kersh said in this newspaper: “Antisemitism reveals diseased minds and it eventually leads to the Holocaust. It must never happen again.”

But it IS happening and still Starmer doesn’t get it. He said after the stabbings this week: “These attacks on our Jewish community are an attack on Britain.” No, they’re not you moron. They’re attacks on Jews and you’re STILL not dealing with them!
