Zack Polanski could face investigation over ‘boobgate’ scandal | Politics | News
Zack Polanski could face an investigation by the National Council for Hypnotherapy over allegations he offered breast enlargement services without being a full member. It is understood that the Liberal Democrats have written to the body to ask if it will launch a probe into the Green Party leader following damning reports, which emerged earlier this week.
Mr Polanski, 43, sparked fury when he became leader and was challenged on his history as a hypnotist, in what quickly became known as “Boobgate”. Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman, Max Wilkinson, 42, is believed to have written to the council after it was reported that the controversial Green Party leader was not a full member when he claimed he could increase the size of a woman’s bust using just the power of the human mind.
Back in 2013, Mr Polanski, who was working as a hypnotherapist, offered a newspaper reporter a private session to increase the size of her bosom.
He reportedly told the woman that his ability to increase a ladies cup size was “safe and a lot cheaper than a boob job”.
Charging her £220 for the service, the then-hypnotherapist said that his powers could “work on other areas of the body, too” such as someone’s nails, or their hair.
But Mr Polanski has since claimed he was misrepresented, and never believed it was possible, even claiming he was framed in a stitch-up by the press.
However, it later emerged that he had stood by the claim when speaking to the BBC just six days after the initial story broke.
In that interview, he talks about a “successful” session with a reporter, which he claims did change her cup size, and suggests he tried the method with others.
Since becoming leader of the Green Party in a landslide victory last year, the eco-populist has repeatedly apologised for the episode, saying he had only agreed to provide a service the reporter had asked for.
The Green Party is expected to see major wins in Thursday’s local elections, and is currently polling at between 18-20% across the country.
A party spokesman was approached for comment.
