Truthfully, it did not seem like much of a surprise for me to see the 76ers start so hot to begin the game. Even if you believe as I do that the Knicks will eventually win this series, I don’t know anyone who predicted a full-blown sweep, and a Game 3 shift of venue to Philadelphia with OG Anunoby sidelined seemed like a perfect opportunity for the 76ers to run away with one.

And then the second quarter happened.

WOOF.

New York outscored Philadelphia 33-21, even with a buzzer-beating 3 from Kelly Oubre. the Knicks are winning the rebound battle 29-19 and flummoxing Philadelphia on defense even without Anunoby. They got crucial bench minutes from Jordan Clarkson and Landry Shamet. Paul George went scoreless in the second-quarter after a 15-point first.

If the 76ers get shockingly swept, we’ll point to that quarter as the moment things turned.
