Is Beyoncé dropping a new album this Friday? Fact vs fan theory

Why do fans think Beyoncé is releasing Act III on 29 May?

The “two-year gap” theory

Fans have noticed that Renaissance was released in 2022, while Cowboy Carter arrived in 2024. Because both albums were released roughly two years apart, dropped on Fridays and were both released on the 29th of the month, many believe Beyoncé could follow the same pattern again, making 2026 feel like the perfect time for Act III.

The theory has spread widely across TikTok, with one creator posting a viral video titled: “Why Beyoncé’s Act III will drop on May 29, 2026”.

The rock album theory

One of the most popular theories is that Act III will be a rock-inspired album, potentially influenced by Tina Turner.

Fans on TikTok point to Beyoncé’s recent styling choices, rock-inspired imagery and long-standing admiration for Tina Turner as possible clues, with some even linking her recent Met Gala appearance to the rumoured new era.

Others believe the album could be titled Black Betty (a classic rock song recorded by Ram Jam in the 1970s). The theory grew after fans claimed that searching “Black Betty Beyoncé” on Google briefly linked to Beyoncé’s official website, fuelling speculation it could be connected to a future project.

The “hidden clues since 2022” theory

Some fans believe Beyoncé has secretly teased all three acts since the beginning.

Images from her 2022 British Vogue shoot featured a disco ball, a white horse and a motorcycle, symbols fans now associate with disco, country and rock music. The theory gained even more attention after Beyoncé’s recent Levi’s advert showed her arriving on a white horse and leaving on a motorbike.
