Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been increasingly wrapped up in scandals in recent years but there’s one moment that marked disaster for him. Andrew’s reputation has taken plenty of blows over the years with royal experts weighing in on when things really started to go wrong for the ex-prince.

On an episode of The Sun’s Royal Exclusive podcast, TalkTv Presenter, Mark Dolan says the release of Andrew Lownie’s book on ex-prince Andrew was the “beginning of the end” for him. ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York’ was released in August 2025, the book compiles hours of research, interviews and Freedom of Information requests to to put together a detailed picture of Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s lives.

On the podcast episode, Bronte Coy, Entertainment and Royal Reporter, adds: “There’s so much to wade into when it comes to Andrew because there have been so many allegations and there are so many assessments going on at the moment by multiple police forces.”

She adds that the ongoing investigation has “enormous scope” and there are a number of things now that Andrew is now facing.

She says the scandals have made things “a lot worse for him and the royal family reputationally.”

After around two decades at Royal Lodge, in Berkshire, the former prince finally moved into Marsh Farm – hidden away in Norfolk.

Andrew’s remaining royal titles were stripped following his links to convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

In February, he was arrested on his birthday on suspicion of misconduct in public office and was released under investigation.

Detectives continue to assess an allegation that a woman was taken to an address in Windsor in 2010 for sexual purposes. The former Prince has not been charged with any crimes.

Thames Valley Police published a new statement revealing the widened probe and appealing for witnesses. Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.
