Politics LIVE: Arch-Remainer Andy Burnham mulls Ed Miliband for Chancellor | Politics | News

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage said if Andy Burnham becomes prime minister next month โ€œheโ€™ll do so with no mandate whatsoeverโ€ and the public โ€œdeserve a voteโ€.

Mr Farage said Sir Keir Starmer โ€œleft yesterday with no dignity at allโ€, adding โ€œI found he became petulant, aggressive, rude, insultingโ€.

Discussing Mr Burnham, the Reform UK leader told GB News: โ€œPoliticians have to take positions.

โ€œWe, at the moment, have almost no idea where this man stands on anything, heโ€™s flipped and flopped in the last month more than Keir Starmer has in the last two years.โ€

Mr Farage added: โ€œIโ€™m hoping that Al Carns, or someone like that stands against him, so that over the course of a summer we can actually see what he stands for. At the moment, we havenโ€™t got a clue.

โ€œIf he does become prime minister on July 17th, heโ€™ll do so with no mandate whatsoever.

โ€œI think the public are sick to death of the game of musical chairs thatโ€™s going on in Downing Street and deserve a vote.โ€

The Reform UK leader added that his party โ€œcan be ready very, very quicklyโ€ for a general election.
