I’m very interested in the positions that Austria’s Marcel Sabitzer is taking up.

Having watched him at Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund, I’m more accustomed to seeing him pick up central positions as either a box-to-box midfielder or a playmaker.

However, for Austria, he is playing very wide on the left and is almost hugging the touchline at times.

Moments ago, Sabitzer drifted inside and clipped a searching towards Michael Gregoritsch, but it was just over the striker’s head.

He is also attempting to help out Konrad Laimer contain Lamine Yamal, which he does so with a brilliant sliding tackle.
