Reform politician’s home attacked and ‘tagged with abusive graffiti’ | Politics | News

A senior Reform UK polician has purportedly had their front door graffitied and received death threats. Two sources told the host of our podcast, The Daily Expresso, JJ Anisiobi, that in recent days, Laila Cunningham, Reform’s 2028 London mayoral candidate, has had the front door of her home tagged with abusive graffiti, and she has received death threats. Ms Cunningham used to be a Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) lawyer. She was elected as a councillor on Westminster City Council in 2022, serving as a representative for Lancaster Gate until May this year.

JJ said to co-host James Walker: “I’ll just explain briefly what has happened to Laila. I’ve
spoken to sources from Reform, two people around Laila, and what they’ve told me is that in recent days, and this is both sickening and terrifying, in recent days, she’s had her front door of her home tagged with abusive graffiti, which as you can imagine, is especially terrifying because someone has found her address and has likely leaked it to likeminded individuals. She’s also received death threats.”

Today, Ms Cunningham slammed the Prime Minister, Andy Burnham. She said: “Andy Burnham is what happens when you put a new salesman in front of the same product.

“Britain doesn’t need a new salesman. It needs a new direction. Reform is ready to provide it.”

Yesterday, she welcomed the proscription by the British Government of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organisation.

She said: “I welcome the decision to proscribe the IRGC as a terrorist organisation, but why is the Muslim Brotherhood still being treated differently?

“I ask Andy Burnham and his new Government: When will you proscribe the Muslim Brotherhood?

“And if you won’t, tell us why.”

Ms Cunningham has also spoken about Oxford Street in London.

The shopping destination “should be the envy of the world”, she said.

Reform’s pick for the capital’s mayoralty added: “Instead Lord Khan has let it become a shell of its former self. Shoplifting, Romanian gangs and vape shops now run rampant.

“I’ll restore visible policing and bring London’s high streets back to their former glory.”
