New York Jets defensive back Qwan’Tez Stiggers was taken away from Tuesday’s joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in an ambulance.
Coach Aaron Glenn later said that Stiggers, 24, came to the sideline after a play and passed out. Practice came to a halt as medical personnel attended to Stiggers, including giving him an IV, before he was placed on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital in an ambulance. Before Stiggers was taken to a hospital, he was conscious and able to speak, Glenn said.
“Our guys did a helluva job,” Glenn said. “They took the necessary steps, just to make sure we do everything we can to be on board when it comes to those situations.”
The Jets selected Stiggers in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 29 games for New York, with five career starts. He has played more than 200 snaps on special teams in each of his first two seasons.

“It was very sad. Very emotional,” Jets running back Breece Hall said after practice.”You get on your knee and say a prayer for him and hope he’s OK. … I didn’t see what happened I just saw everyone stop practicing and walk over there.”
