Communications giant Vodafone should be excluded “from all defence, national and emergency services” contracts if the firm helps illegal migrants, Zia Yusuf has declared. Reform’s home affairs spokesman said the company’s CEO, Margherita Della Valle, will face prison if Nigel Farage wins the next election.

It comes after left-wing charity Care4Calais revealed it had dished out 2,221 pre-paid Vodafone SIM cards to migrants. And Reform has vowed to introduce a “Polanski law” to criminalise those aiding illegal entry to the UK, with the proposal set to ignore the “intent” behind the acts.

Mr Yusuf said that Vodafone’s customers will be “astounded” that they are “helping to facilitate the invasion of Britain by unvetted, military-age men”.

He added in a letter to Ms Della Valle: “They will be shocked to hear that their phone or broadband provider is actively endangering British women and girls.

“I therefore want to give you the opportunity to publicly disavow Vodafone’s distribution of pre-paid SIM cards to illegal migrants.

“If you didn’t know, you should review your procedures as – if Vodafone persists in aiding and abetting the invasion of Britain – you will face criminal sanctions under a Reform UK Government.

“If found guilty, you would be liable to go to prison.

“Furthermore, a Reform UK Government will review all public contracts and future contracting with Vodafone and consider further sanctions such as regulatory penalties.

“In particular, if Vodafone is complicit in the invasion of Britain, you should be excluded from all defence, national security and emergency services procurement (and your equipment removed from sensitive networks as soon as possible).”

Care4Calais’s annual report details how volunteers have hand-delivered 162,000 items including 2,221 Vodafone SIM cards, 3,765 hoodies, 3,532 pairs of joggers and 1,174 t-shirts to ensure the migrants are clothed and can call and text.

The SIM cards are said to be part of a deal between British firm Vodafone and the charity.

Mr Yusuf continued: “This is not the first time Vodafone has pulled pro-open borders stunts, having previously given phones to Afghans secretly smuggled into the country by the Tories.

“Regarding future regulatory measures, should you take all of the following steps without delay, we would be prepared to consider them in mitigation:

• Immediately cancel these SIM cards, terminate your relationship with Care4Calais and publicly pledge to stop facilitating illegal entry into the UK.
• Provide the tracking data from those SIM cards to British and French authorities to help them combat illegal Channel crossings.
• Rapidly and comprehensively review all your links with non-profits to ensure that there is no further Vodafone support for ‘charities’ assisting illegal migrants.”

A Vodafone spokesperson said: ““VodafoneThree’s programme provides mobile SIMs to registered UK charities – against strict programme criteria – for distribution to vulnerable people in the UK.

“Participating charities, regulated by the Charity Commission, distribute the six months connectivity to those they identify as being in need. All calls, texts and data are for UK use only.”

Care4Calais reacted to the revelations – first uncovered by GB News – by urging supporters to give them more money.

They said in an email: “We’re proud of this work.

“We’re proud to stand with refugees and people seeking asylum.
