Bafta Cymru 2025: Madfabulous leads nominations with six
Feature film Madfabulous – which tells the story of an eccentric 19th Century Welsh aristocrat – leads the way at this year’s Bafta Cymru awards with six nominations.
The nominations have been announced and also include five for drama series The Guest and three for crime thriller Under Salt Marsh.
It’s a Sin actor Callum Scott Howells, who stars as Henry Paget in Madfabulous, previously said it was a “genuine honour” to portray the fifth Marquess of Anglesey.
Lee Walters, BAFTA Cymru chairman, congratulated the nominees and said “each is a testament to the creativity, skill and dedication of the people working across Wales’ screen industries, both in front of and behind the camera”.
“The range and quality of this year’s work reflects a sector that continues to grow in confidence, telling distinctive stories that connect with audiences at home and around the world,” he added.
He said the awards were “an opportunity to inspire the next generation of Welsh storytellers”.
The awards consist of 17 categories.
Actress Eve Myles receives her 10th nomination, while Gabrielle Creevy receives her fourth.
Matthew Rhys alos receives his forth nomination.
Directors Euros Lyn and Gareth Bryn have both received their ninth nomination.
First-time nominees include Buddug Povey, Sian ReeseโWilliams, Tom Cullen, Sian Eleri, Claire Oakley and Lisa Baker.
