Sadiq Khan brutally humiliates Zack Polanski over baffling video | Politics | News
After posting a clip of him asking people to vote for him in the Holborn and St. Pancras by-election on October 8, Mr Polanski enquired on Thursday as to whether Lord Khan would say no to a data centre if it did not “secure clean water and energy supply”. The Mayor answered in the South Asian language with a smirk on his face, which triggered laughter.
According to a translation, provided by Lord Khanโs office, he said: โPeace be upon you. I was worried that you would ask the question in Urdu, but you asked your question in English.
โIโll be spending time in Holborn and St Pancras this week and Iโm going to be there. Maybe we will meet there.โ
He added: “I thought as the member is so proficient in Urdu, that I would speak in Urdu.”
Critics questioned why Mr Polanski posted the video as a relatively small number of people in the constituency speak the language.
Labour MP Naz Shah called the joke “pure class” on X.
Sir James is running for London Mayor, resigning from his shadow cabinet post last month.
Mr Polanski has also posted a video of him speaking French after people said that more people speak the language in the area.
He said on X earlier this afternoon: “Our movement is growing, we are working together to represent people across Holborn and St Pancras. Let’s go win the election.”
