Amol Rajan has said goodbye to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme as he presented his final show on Wednesday morning.

Speaking at the end of the programme, he thanked his co-presenter Emma Barnett, as well as his wife Charlotte and his children.

Rajan became emotional as he paid tribute to father, who died shortly after he began his role on Today in 2021.

Colleagues gathered in the radio studio’s gallery for his exit, and the programme played highlights from his time on Today as well as well wishes from his co-presenters.

Rajan announced his intention to step down from the role in January to “jump into the great digital Narnia of the creator economy” by launching his own company.
