Alastair Campbell’s boring hissy fit that proves he can still convince himself of anything | Politics | News

In the two weeks since the country’s most senior judges ruled men cannot become women, trans extremists have engaged in a collective hissy fit. So-called progressives who for many years have bullied people for raising serious and genuine concerns are panicking now they can no longer claim the law is on their side.
Fetishists who spotted the loopholes in allowing everyone to choose whether they are male or female now find the toilet door slammed firmly shut in their faces. The ‘be kind’ hate mob who vilified women and backed children being experimented on with puberty blockers have been left with nowhere to go. But it is hard when you have spent years shouting down people for not believing something that you know logically cannot be true. You cannot just give up and admit you were wrong all along.
So we have seen luvvies who got rich on the back of JK Rowling’s talents again disown her, writing a letter condemning the judgement for stating biology exists. Luckily, they only have to spend their days reading out other people’s words, so their views are of little consequence.
Doctors, however, we do need to worry about as it seems some of them managed to get through medical school without a basic knowledge of the difference between male and female bodies. The junior doctors wing of the BMA, which was infiltrated by the hard-left after the pandemic, claims using the term biological sex is “reductive, trans and intersex-exclusionary and biologically nonsensical” with some members saying it has “no basis in science or medicine”.
That patients face the potential of being treated by medical professionals who believe a man’s fantasies are real and biology is not enough to send a shudder down the spine, although maybe they have imagined away their spines and that is why they are so happy to bow down to trans extremists.
Professor Sir Sam Everington, a GP, was clearly concerned the comments would undermine trust in the profession so took to the airwaves to insist the position did not represent the view of the whole BMA and criticised the “intemperate language”. But even he could not bring himself to say trans women are not biologically women as there is too much “hate and hurt around” and he insisted the issue is “nuanced and complicated”.
Trans extremists have spent so many years terrorising individuals and institutions that even the most eminent and sensible people are left overthinking everything they say. Over in the Labour party, Keir Starmer begrudgingly managed to cough out a statement that the Supreme Court ruling gave clarity about whether men could be women.
Don’t forget, it was Starmer who failed to defend one of his female MPs, Rosie Duffield, when she was hounded by the trans warriors in the Labour party. She quit the party. Does former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell really believe men can become women?
Given he managed to persuade himself that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction he is certainly capable of being delusional. The podcaster was angry that the court ruling suggested if you are born a man you “remain a man for the rest of your life”. He was incredibly aerated about which toilet a trans woman should use now but never once mentioned any of the cases of women being forced to share the same facilities with men.
The Durham nurses, for example, who have had to go to court because their changing room is also used by a trans woman they claim has “stared at their breasts” and “lingered too long”. Campbell was also very upset that a transwoman had been referred to as a man on a TV news debate because it was “sneering” and “unpleasant”.
No mention of the women who have been raped, then had to suffer the horror of their attacker being referred to as “she” during the court cases. Apparently the issue has been “weaponised” by the media and most people do not care about it.
Campbell knows this because he has done his own research, which seems to amount to asking his daughter, partner and a friend who has a trans child. He explained at length how the Supreme Court ruling did not bring clarity to the situation at all. Campbell’s boring, ill-informed rant added little to the debate.
But it did clarify one thing, progressives really do have a special kind of contempt for women.
