Bills vs. Jaguars live updates: NFL playoffs wild-card game score, predictions, odds and latest

Billsโ€™ inactives vs. Jaguars: RB Ty Johnson, TE Keleki Latu, OL Tylan Grable, DT Larry Ogunjobi, LB Terrel Bernard, CB Maxwell Hairston, S Darnell Savage

Of their inactives, the biggest inclusion that we didn’t already know for sure about is third-down back Johnson. Johnson, who injured his ankle against the Jets in Week 18, is unable to play his usual set of snaps on both offense and special teams. His absence means backup running back Ray Davis will likely see a slight uptick in role, but even more so, it could put the NFL’s rushing leader, James Cook, in line for one of his biggest workloads of the 2025 season. Cook is an excellent pass catcher, although he does struggle a bit in pass protection. Regardless, Cook should see even more work against the Jaguars. Linebacker Shaq Thompson will start in place of the injured Bernard, and cornerback Tre’Davious White will get a full-time starting role with Hairston out.

The other thing to monitor is the status of kicker Matt Prater. Prater missed two games ahead of Week 18 with a quad injury. The Bills made him active for their regular-season finale, to which he re-aggravated the quad injury mid-game and didn’t have a replacement active for the game. The Bills tested Prater out throughout the week and decided to have him be their lone game-day kicker, despite the injury concerns. If Prater should re-aggravate the injury yet again, the Bills may have to go the rest of the way without a place kicker and put them at a strategic disadvantage.
