Canada vs Bosnia live updates: World Cup 2026 game confirmed team news and latest buildup

Cyle Larin is an important member of Canadaโ€™s roster. The striker is playing in his second World Cup for Canada. His qualifying campaign for the 2022 World Cup was memorable, finishing with 13 goals during Concacaf qualifiers.

After spending 2023 to 2026 in Mallorca, Larin was loaned to Feyenoord where he made 15 appearances. His loan was terminated and he joined EFL Championship side Southampton on loan for the rest of the 2025-26 season. Playing in Southampton re-energised Larin, who scored eight goals in 16 appearances and has signed for them on a permanent basis.

Internationally for Canada, Larin has 90 caps and 30 goals for his country. But recently, Larin has struggled in front of goal. Under manager Jesse Marsch, Larinโ€™s last international goal came in October 2024 against Panama in a friendly.

Not ideal as Canada need strikers like Larin to be in form and firing, if they want to get out of the group stage. But the 31-year-old, as one of the veterans on this team, is going to savour the moment as he walks out onto the pitch for todayโ€™s opening World Cup match:

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œJust going to take in where Iโ€™ve came from, where this team has come from. Iโ€™ve been here 11, 12 years and from my first game playing, itโ€™s a lot different now. Itโ€™s just going to be special.โ€
