Donald Trump has launched a fresh assault on Great Britain and the Labour Government, accusing it of having a “loser” energy policy over its addiction to green energy and refusal to drill for oil.ย

Speaking at Davos, President Trump further condemned the UK government as Sir Keir’s relationship with the White House falls apart.

President Trump blasted: “The United Kingdom produces just one-third the total energy from all sources it did in 1999 – think about that, one third.

“And they’re sitting on top of the North Sea – one of the greatest reserves anywhere in the world, but they don’t use it and that’s one reason why their energy has reached catastrophically low levels with equally high prices.

“They like to say ‘it’s depleted’ – it’s not depleted! It’s got 500 years [worth of oil], they haven’t even found the oil! They don’t let anybody drill!

“They make it impossible for the oil companies to go. They take 92% of the revenues so the oil companies say ‘we can’t do it!’.

“I want Europe to do great, I want UK to do great. Sitting on one of the greatest energy sources in the world and they don’t use it – in fact their energy prices have soard 139%. There are windmills all over Europe… and they are losers!”

President Trump’s latest outburst came hours after Keir Starmer appeared to shatter the special relationship between Britain and the US, condemning the President’s change of mind over his planned Chagos surrender to Mauritius.

In an astonishing breakdown of diplomatic relations, Sir Keir told the House of Commons: “President Trump deployed words on Chagos yesterday that were different to his previous words of welcome and support when I met him in the White House.

โ€œHe deployed those words yesterday for the express purpose of putting pressure on me and Britain in relation to my values and principles on the future of Greenland.

“Mr Speaker, [Trump] wants me to yield on my position, and Iโ€™m not going to do so.

โ€œGiven that was his express purpose, Iโ€™m surprised the leader of the opposition has jumped on the bandwagon.โ€

Taking to Truth Social yesterday morning, Mr Trump branded the handover deal โ€œan act of GREAT STUPIDITYโ€.

He fumed: “Shockingly, our ‘brilliant’ NATO Ally, the United Kingdom, is currently planning to give away the Island of Diego Garcia, the site of a vital U.S. Military Base, to Mauritius, and to do so FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER.

“There is no doubt that China and Russia have noticed this act of total weakness. These are International Powers who only recognize STRENGTH, which is why the United States of America, under my leadership, is now, after only one year, respected like never before. The UK giving away extremely important land is an act of GREAT STUPIDITY.”
