F1 Las Vegas GP live updates: Norris takes pole in rainy qualifying
Even an elite wet-weather driver like Max Verstappen has his limits when it comes to the elements, and those limits were tested tonight. Hereโs the other half of tomorrowโs front row speaking after qualifying:
โIt was really, really slippery out there. Itโs already slippery to drive in the wet. Itโs not fun, I can tell you that. I like to drive in the wet, but this felt more like driving on ice. So it took a long time to get the tires to work a little bit.
โI do feel that we were a little bit more competitive on the extreme tire, but the track was improving so we had to move on to the inter. We struggled to have any kind of grip. On the final lap you risk a little bit more, but it was still by far not enough to fight for first. Still, to be on the front row I think is good for us. Iโm excited for tomorrow. I hope the inside is ok in terms of grip, but we’ll see.โ
