F1 Qatar GP live updates: Sprint qualifying latest after Lewis Hamilton suffers another early exit

Plenty of cars sparking as they race around the Qatar track tonight, which means plenty of focus on plank wear after last weekendโ€™s disqualifications.

But there are two key differences here.

One is that this track is extremely smooth and high grip, so the floors just arenโ€™t going to be whacking the ground as they were in Las Vegas. And even if the cars are oscillating at times, the short, single stint of the sprint race means itโ€™s unlikely a plank would get worn enough to become illegal.

Then, if the teams do spot more wear than theyโ€™d like after the sprint race on Saturday, they can raise their ride heights for the main race and itโ€™s qualifying session.
