Keir Starmer has turned Britain into a laughing stock – the King must pick up the pieces | Politics | News

King Charles could easily have ducked out of his State visit to the US to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. He’d have had plenty of excuses, the assassination attempt on Donald Trump at the weekend at the White House Correspondents Ball, the war in Iran, America’s tariffs, but instead he chose to go.

I must say, he has gone up in my estimation.

Keir Starmer is no leader of the UK. He has turned Britain into a laughing stock. So itโ€™s reassuring that King Charles stood up to the plate and headed to the US. Charles is certainly dutiful and in an ever more febrile world his calmness and assuredness is much needed.

He may even repair the UKโ€™s relationship with the US which is vital for our security and prosperity.

Who’s next under the bus?

Starmer is so desperate to remain as Prime Minister he is already looking for his next colleague to chuck under a bus to save his skin. Step forward Rachel from Accounts. Rumour has it sheโ€™s out when the local elections go pear shaped for Labour. Given the disastrous impact her tax rises have had on businesses, employment and the economy, she deserves the sack but Starmer has supported all of those decisions.

History shows that when Prime Ministers sack their Chancellors, it is not long before they are bundled out of office themselves. This is the surest sign yet the local elections could spell the end game for Prime Minister Starmer โ€“ hereโ€™s hoping.

Mel C โ€“ better known as Sporty Spice โ€“ has got a new album coming out called Sweat. Now in her 50s, she says she has finally got the body she always wanted โ€“ chiselled and muscular. She does indeed look great, but looking that toned comes at a hefty price โ€“ three weightlifting sessions per week, cardio sessions and running.

How about just breathing in and wearing some spandex pants instead?

We must stay out

It is the 20th anniversary of my husband Phil launching the Better Off Out campaign in Parliament in conjunction with The Freedom Association, run at the time by Mark Wallace and the recently deceased and much missed Simon Richards.

At that point, Phil was the first and only MP to say that the UK should leave the EU, and he expected to be the only person at the launch. To his surprise and delight, other Conservative MPs attended the meeting: Sir Nicholas and Lady Ann Winterton, Eric Forth, Chris Chope, Douglas Carswell, Philip Hollobone, David TC Davies and Bob Spink.

The Daily Express was the first newspaper to endorse the campaign. Just ten years later the UK had voted to leave the EU in a referendum. Today we need to make sure this Labour government doesnโ€™t reverse this hard won battle.

Woke electric vehicles trashed!

Wakefield council has ‘binned’ the idea of using electric refuse collection vehicles after doing a four-year trial and finding they arenโ€™t good enough. Back in May 2019, the council declared a climate emergency, and that electric vehicles were the way forward. Letโ€™s hope that other local councils abandon pointless virtue signalling, and start focusing on delivering the best and most cost effective service to local residents which is what they are elected to do.
