Representing the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest brought Sam Battle one point, but the musician has said the result is a “badge of honour”.

Battle, better known by his stage name Look Mum No Computer, represented the UK at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with the electronic pop song Eins, Zwei, Drei.

Looking back on the competition, he said the experience passed in a blur. “It just happened so quick,” he said. “I didn’t even realise. I was just like, ‘oh, I’m jumping on tables, don’t fall off the table, Sam, sing’.”

He was speaking ahead of his performance on Sunday at the Ramsgate Festival of Sound, external at the Granville Theatre where he plans to include Eins, Zwei, Drei in his set.

Reflecting on finishing at the bottom of the Eurovision scoreboard, Battle said many people had enjoyed the performance.

“I walk around and even a couple of days ago I was walking up to work and a couple of school kids were like, ‘you were awesome’,” he said.

“It’s nice to know that I’ve made people smile.”
