Nicola Sturgeon admits she could fall for a woman in latest revelation | Politics | News
Nicola Sturgeon has said she could fall in love with a woman in a new interview. The former Scottish first minister was pressed about her revelation in her new memoir, Frankly, that she had โnever considered sexuality, my own included, to be binaryโ.
Asked on Times Radio if that meant she could fall for a man or a woman, Ms Sturgeon replied: โI believe that, yes.โ Earlier this week, the ex-SNP leader twice refused to rule out having a relationship with a woman following the breakdown of her marriage.
Asked about her comment in her book about her sexuality not being binary, she told ITV News: โI mean what it says, itโs just my view of the world and life and the way people are.
“If youโre about to ask me am I making some big revelation? No. Am I putting labels on myself? No. Thatโs how I see the world.โ
Pressed on whether she might have a relationship with a woman, she said: โIโm just out of a marriage, so Iโm not rushing into a relationship with anyone, anytime soon. Iโm enjoying being my own person for a while. โ
Asked again, she said: โIโm not contemplating, sort of anything of that nature. Iโm just enjoying life.โ
In her memoir, Ms Sturgeon rubbished social media speculation that she was having a โtorrid lesbian affairโ with a former French ambassador to the UK.
She branded it a โblatant lieโ and insisted that โsexual relationships should be private mattersโ.
