Nigel Farage delivers 8-word verdict after video of Labour MP goes viral | Politics | News

Nigel Farage has hit out at โ€œout of touchโ€ Labour following a resurfaced clip of a Labour MP claiming we should accept refugees โ€œuntil saturation pointโ€. The Clacton MP has now shared the video of Rachael Maskell, MP for York Central, alongside videos of himself from 2014 speaking on the impact of migration to the UK.

The Reform UK leader posted the video on X accompanied by the caption: โ€œMany people are sharing an old video of Rachael Maskell MP.โ€ He added: โ€œI was talking about it 11 years ago!โ€ The video begins with the question: โ€œWho has the answer to the refugee crisis?โ€, before a resurfaced clip of Rachael Maskell saying โ€œ20,000 is not enough, 30,000 is not enoughโ€ plays.

It then cuts to a 2014 clip of Mr Farage saying โ€œ77% of the population say we cannot take immigration at current levelsโ€.

Ms Maskell continues: โ€œWe will keep going until saturation pointโ€. The Clacton MP then says: โ€œIโ€™m sorry, we simply canโ€™t accept countless millionsโ€, while headlines from 2015 flash up on the screen.

The Labour MP then says: โ€œWhat does it matter if we have to wait another week for hospital visits,โ€ followed by another clip of the Reform UK leader saying: โ€œThe current accident and emergency crisis that weโ€™ve seen this winter in our hospitals.โ€

The video then cuts to and from Ms Maskell speaking on โ€œclass sizes [being] slightly biggerโ€ to Mr Farage talking about โ€œthe impact on schoolsโ€.

The Labour MP adds: โ€œor if our city is slightly fullerโ€, followed by the Reform MP saying: โ€œThe fact that we have to build one new dwelling every seven minutesโ€.

The clip then cuts to a black screen with the word โ€œLabourโ€ shown, followed by โ€œout of touchโ€ underneath.

The video shared on social media has amassed nearly 100,000 views on X alone, as users comment: โ€œItโ€™s old but never more relevant todayโ€, and โ€œcompletely agree Nigel whether it is old or notโ€.
