Sir Keir Starmer said he and Narendra Modi discussed the need for a โjust and lasting peace in Ukraineโ, as well as โbreaking away from dependence on fossil fuelsโ.
Speaking at the state governorโs residence in Mumbai, the Prime Minister said: โThe Prime Minister and I also discussed the need for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, the need for stability and security in the Indo-Pacific, and the need to co-operate in critical areas like climate and energy, including breaking away from dependence on fossil fuels.โ
Sir Keir congratulated India on its rising global strength, adding: โWe sit together in the Commonwealth, the G20, and we want to see India taking its rightful place on the UN Security Council too.โ
He had earlier described Indiaโs economic growth as โremarkableโ.
โIt is significant that weโre meeting here in Mumbai, as Indiaโs economic and financial capital, because Indiaโs growth story is remarkable,โ Sir Keir said.
