Politics LIVE: Nigel Farage predicts date Keir Starmer will be gone | Politics | News

Nigel Farage has predicted that Sir Keir Starmer will be gone by the end of the month. The Prime Minister is battling for his political future amid the Lord Mandelson scandal after Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar called for him to quit yesterday in the latest blow.ย

Speaking to GB News, the Reform UK leader said in a message to Sir Keir: โ€œIt’s over. It’s done. The game’s up, mate. Time you recognised it. I mean, look, how on earth can the Scottish parliamentary elections go ahead? You’ve got the leader of the Scottish party saying he doesn’t support the national leader. That to me is the straw that does actually break the camel’s back, and it’s just now simply a matter of time.

โ€œHe’s lost legitimacy. He’s lost authority. Events have moved way beyond his control, and I’m afraid it’s all down to his own grievous misjudgement.” Asked when he thought the PM would be ousted, Mr Farage added: “I think he’ll be gone before the end of the month. That is my view.โ€

The Prime Minister appeared to calm nerves among Labour MPs last night, and succeeded in having every Cabinet Minister tweet a supportive message. But the Gorton and Denton by-election at the end of this month could change the Prime Minister’s position substantially.
