A Reform UK government would ban all foreign nationals from welfare as part of an overhaul to save ยฃ50 billion a year. The party’s Treasury spokesman, Robert Jenrick, will set out the plans at a press conference this morning. Reform will block foreign nationals – including those with EU settled status โ€“ from claiming almost all forms of welfare.

It will also abolish personal independence payments (PIP) and the health element of Universal Credit for working-age adults. The press conference comes after Reform leader Nigel Farage won his “people versus the establishment” by-election in Clacton last week.
