Politics LIVE: Tories to skewer Labour over Mandelson saga in Commons debate | Politics | News

A minister will be forced to answer questions over Keir Starmer’s handling of the Lord Mandelson saga in an emergency Commons debate on Tuesday.

The Conservatives are gearing up for a clash on the latest crisis engulfing the Labour government.

Kemi Badneoch’s party said they will use the Parlimentary procedure to demand Labour end their “cover-up attempts, and come clean” on what Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his Chief of Staff Morgan McSweeney knew about Lord Mandelson’s relationship with convicted billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, and when.

Mrs Badenoch said: โ€œThere are too many unanswered questions around Keir Starmerโ€™s decision to appoint Peter Mandelson as US Ambassador.

โ€œNo10โ€™s story keeps changing, meanwhile the public have a right to know the truth about what the Prime Minister and his Chief of Staff knew and when. If Keir Starmer wonโ€™t face the music himself, we will use this debate in Parliament to pressure the relevant documents out of No10 and the Government.

โ€œAt a moment when Russia is threatening NATO and our economy is flatlining, Keir Starmer is distracted by constant scandal. He needs to stop focusing on Labour Party matters and start acting in the national interest.โ€
