A memorable matchup between two quarterbacks once traded for each other ended with Matthew Stafford and the Rams getting the upper hand, 41-34, over Jared Goff and the Lions on Sunday. Stafford finished 24-for-38 for 368 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, while Goff finished 25-for-41 for 338 yards and three touchdowns in a highly entertaining back-and-forth affair.

Los Angeles became the first team in the NFL to clinch a playoff spot with the win, though it was joined minutes later when the Denver Broncos finished off their second-half comeback against the Green Bay Packers. More importantly, however, L.A. improved to 11-3 and held on to the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

However, the Rams did not escape the win over the Lions unscathed. Wide receiver Davante Adams went down with a non-contact injury in the fourth quarter and confirmed to reporters postgame that he reaggravated a hamstring injury — leaving his status for tonight’s game in doubt.
