The real reason why Zack Polanski is dangerous for Britain | Politics | News

Zack Polanski’s sympathy for a suspected antisemitic terrorist rather than his victims shows why he and his Green Party is so dangerous for Britain. They were the furious sentiments of one MP, but pretty much sum up the mood of most right-minded people.

How can anyone watch that video from Golders Green and not feel proud of the way those heroic police officers wrestled with the knife-wielding attacker? He has partially apologised but Polanskiโ€™s initial suggestion that the police were too heavy-handed is deeply concerning.

It provoked immediate scorn from Met Chief Sir Mark Rowley, who took the extraordinary step of publicly eviscerating the Green party leader.

But this is just the latest outrage triggered by the populist London Assembly member and his followers.

Much has been written in recent weeks about the outlandish proposals and deplorable opinions of the Green Party candidates standing for the forthcoming elections on May 7.

We have read about one candidate in Scotland who wants to abolish prisons, of another in London who called David Lammy a โ€œcoconutโ€, and a whole host of grass-roots campaigners who have repugnant views regarding the Jews.

Then there are the Greens plans to take Britain out of Nato, scrap the Trident nuclear deterrent and legalising all drugs.

Alarm bells are ringing, not least because of the huge gains the Greens are set to make next week, notably among the traditionally affluent, middle-class Labour strongholds in the capital.

Polanskiโ€™s party is polling around 17%, neck-and-neck with the Tories and Labour – Reform are out front on around 25% – and could pick up 500 seats in Thursdayโ€™s local elections.

This will give them a strong foothold and help consolidate their influence ahead of the next general election, expected in 2029.

In fact, current polling suggests they would be key players in any Coalition discussions if there is a hung parliament.

That is deeply concerning, not only for Labour, which is haemorrhaging support to the Left-wing party, but for pretty much everyone else.

Their emergence as a political force has far reaching consequences.
