Burnham really is scraping the barrel bigging up evidence showing Russia interfered in the Brexit referendum. Not just that but itโ€™s now influencing voters across Europe to vote for the โ€˜far-rightโ€™.

Us dumb dumbs who voted for Brexit didnโ€™t do so because we believed in Brexit. No, it was because we were duped by the Kremlin and did Putinโ€™s and Russiaโ€™s bidding. So of course, the vote canโ€™t be trusted, and we need another EU referendum to reverse the decision. Given that Burnhamโ€™s Makerfield constituents voted overwhelmingly for Brexit, I am sure they are all delighted to know what a gullible bunch their MP thinks they are.

How reassuring to see you can’t keep an overpaid man down. I see Mark Thurston, former Chief Executive of the disastrous white elephant HS2, is now the Chief Executive of Anglia Water and hitting the headlines after tonnes of untreated sewage entered River Mardyke in August 2025 killing 4,723 fish.

For this, his ยฃ1.5millon bonus has been withheld for 2025-26, but having earned ยฃ4.45mlion between March 2017 and Sept 2023 at HS2 I’m sure he’ll be able to cope. Nice work if you can get it.

Kemi’s spot on about Inheritance Tax theft

Kemi Badenoch is absolutely right to propose abolition of Inheritance tax on family homes and significantly increase the tax-free allowance for other assets. For many years, opinion polls have shown inheritance to tax to be the most unpopular and unfair tax as far as voters of all Parties are concerned. This is money that has already been taxed and Kemi is right to reposition the Conservatives as the Party of low tax and aspiration once again.

First past the Racing Post

Full marks to the Racing Post newspaper for visiting the two local betting in Andy Burnhamโ€™s Makerfield constituency and speaking to both staff and customers. What it showed was staff worried about losing their jobs; and long-standing elderly customers worried about losing the close-knit community in the shop where they chat to their friends and where they can get a free coffee. All because supposed working-class hero Andy Burnham doesnโ€™t like betting and wants to tax betting shops out of existence.

Hereโ€™s a racing certainty, on winning this seat he took his constituents for a ride.
