Newcastle to move for Wissa
Newcastle are expected to quickly get a deal done for Yoane Wissa after Brentford complete the signing of Dango Ouattara.
Sky Sports News reports that Wissa’s representatives have been assured Brentford would negotiate with Newcastle if they signed replacement forwards.
Ouattara’s arrival, thought to be down to Bryan Mbeumo’s sale, does not guarantee that Wissa will now be sold too as the Bees would like cover for him before they sell.

Marcus Rashford explains Man United’s biggest problem
“Show me a successful team that just adapts,” said Rashford. “When Fergie was in charge, not only the principles for the first team – the whole academy set up so you could pick players from 15 years and over – that’s a full generation. And they’d all understand the principles of playing the Man United way, right?
“You see it with any team that’s been successful over a period of time – they have principles that any coach that comes in, any player that comes in, has to align to these principles or be able to add to these principles.
“Whereas at times I feel like United have just been… we’re hungry to win, so we’ll always try to adapt and to sign players that fit this system. But it’s reactionary.”

Barcelona still trying to register Marcus Rashford
Barcelona are still trying to register Marcus Rashford ahead of their opening game of the season.
The club are working hard to register him ahead of their other new players before Saturday evening’s clash away at Mallorca.
If they cannot register Rashford by Saturday, Barca are confident he, and their other new signings, will be before the end of the transfer window.
But, if they are not registered by the deadline on September 1, they will not be able to play for the club until at least January.

Nkunku to Bayern latest
talkSPORT have revealed a few more details about Christopher Nkunku’s potential move to Bayern Munich.
Bayern opened up talks with Chelsea for the forward back in January but deemed the £60m price tag too high.
The German side prefer a loan move with an option to buy though a permanent deal hasn’t been ruled out for a sum less than the £52m fee Chelsea paid for him in 2023.

Nuno on ‘major problems’ at Forest
Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo says his “unbalanced” side have a “major problem” as the Premier League returns.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Nuno said: “We are very far – very, very far – from where we should be. We are very far in terms of preparation, in terms of planning, in terms of the squad.
“So we are all very worried that in two or three days time we are playing for the Premier League, the most demanding competition in the world. And we are very far. Very, very far.
“The plans that we had didn’t come through. The preparation in terms of squad was not ideal. We didn’t have a chance to create the bond – and this is what I think is more important.
“Because we don’t know which squad we have. We have players working here that know they’re going to leave on loan. We have a major problem.”
