Britain has targeted Moscow’s military supply chain in a new sanctions blitz to degrade Vladimir Putin’s barbaric war machine.

New targets include ships in the Russian president’s shadow fleet and North Korean generals who have been involved in deploying thousands of troops to support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The tough sanctions come on the third anniversary of the war.

The Foreign Office said the measures will target 107 “entities” in Russia and other countries that have supported Putin’s military machine.

Another 40 ships in the dictator’s so-called “shadow fleet” carrying Russian oil have been designated.

North Korean defence minister No Kwang Chol and other generals and senior officials involved in deploying soldiers to Russia have been sanctioned.

There are also 13 Russian targets, including Marat Mustafaev and his company LLC Grant-Trade, which the Government says has funnelled advanced European technology into Russia to support the war.

The sanctions target Russian billionaire Roman Trotsenko and Kyrgyzstan-based OJSC Keremet Bank.

Producers and suppliers of machine tools, electronics and dual-use goods for Russia’s military in third countries have also been listed. They include Central Asian states, Turkey, Thailand, India and China – the largest supplier of critical goods for Russia’s military.
