What we learned about Texas Tech: the Red Raiders are probably the deepest team in the Big 12 and invested wisely in a defensive line that owned Utah for four quarters. Also: their backup QB might be the new starter.

What we learned about Utah: Devon Dampier is fun, but has limited talent around him. If you’re asking a QB to make a massive leap the way Utah is asking its new QB, there has to be star-caliber talent around him. And there just isn’t on this roster in 2025. Utah might find itself still in the mix in a month or so, but the hype train has run out of steam.
