Labour wins Holborn and St Pancras by-election in nightmare for Greens – results in full | Politics | News
Labour has won the crunch Holborn and St Pancras by-election, a huge blow to Zack Polanski. The Green Party leader had been hoping to sweep to victory in Sir Keir Starmer’s old seat, which is a Labour stronghold.
But Labour’s candidate Sagal Abdi-Wali, the leader of Camden Council, won with 12,292 votes or 45%, while Mr Polanski came second with 8,928 or 33%.
The Conservative candidate came in third, followed by Reform and the Lib Dems.
It comes as the Green leader has faced a difficult week after the party passed a controversial motion at its conference declaring that “Zionism is racism”.
